Mr. Sargent proposed the agenda to include three items: Proposal for Covid Relief Fund, and Update on new Bluegrass Breakdown format and Update status on FDF Cancellation. The agenda was approved.
COVID Relief Fund
Mr. Ludé presented a proposal for creation of a “CBA Covid Artist Relief Fund”. This was followed by significant discussion, after which the board elected to adopt the policy that the net proceeds of the Covid Relief Fund through June 30, 2020 are allocated 25% to the CBA General Fund, and 75% to musicians and bands per designated programs to be defined by the board.
A committee was formed to define the specific “Designated Programs” under the Covid Artist Relief Fund, with Mr. Kara Kundert as chair.
Update on new Bluegrass Breakdown format
Mr. Campbell reported that creation of the new Bluegrass Breakdown format has gone well. The first (May) edition is going to the printers now. They will distribute via U.S. mail to 3,000 addresses, including FDF ticket holders, lapsed members, Youth program participants etc., rather than just the 1,700 addresses that the old breakdown was sent to.
Father’s Day Festival Cancellation Status
Mr. Hurd reports that to his knowledge, all contracts have been successfully voided without penalty. Mr. Gooding reported that nearly all bands are willing to come back for the 2021 Festival.
Next Board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 10:00am PDT, tentatively by Web conference
Mr. Sargent adjourned the meeting at 8:33pm
