Fiddle Hell Online Hands-On Festival
November 4 - November 7
Do you play OLD-TIME fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, or cello, or BLUEGRASS fiddle, mandolin, guitar, or cello? I’d be very happy to have you join us at Fiddle Hell Online, Nov 4-7, 2021. FHO covers multiple styles in its 35 concerts, 35 jams, and 175 workshops, all REPLAYABLE for four months! Our OLD-TIME instructors are great teachers and performers, including Judy Hyman, Jeff Claus, Ben Hunter, Emily Schaad, Jay Ungar, Molly Mason, Riley Baugus, Rachel Eddy, Jake Blount, Cathy Fink, Rev Robert Jones, Andy Reiner, Nokosee Fields, & Tom Collins. Our BLUEGRASS teachers and performers are excellent: Darol Anger, Sharon Gilchrist, Jeremy Kittel, Laura Orshaw, Emory Lester, Erica Brown, Matt Shipman, Joy Adams, Dr. Richard Brown, & Tony Watt.
In other styles, instructors include April Verch, Becky Tracy, Rodney Miller, Andrea Beaton, Kevin Burke, Natalie Haas, Calvin Vollrath, Katie McNally, Jason Anick, Andrea Hoag, Belen Escobedo, & 60 more.
If you register early (which saves 10%), you’ll be entered in the October giveaway for a beautiful violin! It’s a handmade East European violin (~1890 to 1910) with beautiful mother-of-pearl inlays front and back, and striped purfling on the top and bottom edges. Its sound is warm and resonant, and it comes with a new carbon fiber bow and lightweight case. Worth about $1500 — but its cool factor is off the charts!
Register by Sept 27th to be qualified for TWO giveaway drawings (including CDs, books, lessons, and TWO chances for the violin), and you’ll have also have free access to 2 online workshops taught live by Andy Reiner (“Micro-Improvisation in Fiddle Tunes” and “Fiddle Hell Pre-Party!”). Register by Oct 20th to have ONE chance for the violin, 1 free workshop, and 1 giveaway drawing. So why wait? We also have additional 10% discounts for seniors and young players.
Info on instructors, schedule, and registration is at www.fiddlehell.org.
What do people say about FH Online? From anonymous attendee surveys for Fiddle Hell Online last April:
“What an amazing staff of wonderful traditional players and teachers!”
“One of the most well-organized festivals I’ve been to. I was able to experience new genres of music. Having the class replays is terrific. Brilliant teachers!”
“I loved online! Being able to study the workshop information in depth through the replays afterwards is invaluable! Your technical set-up is fantastic!”
“Fabulous way to learn tunes. I could see and hear the instructors very well from my ‘front row’ seat & play right along with them. The replays covered those sections I missed. I will definitely do it again and recommend it to others!”
