Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands at Sweetwater Music Hall

March 8 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

$33

CBA Lifetime Member, and Multi-GRAMMY nominee, Laurie Lewis is a forebear and contemporary of so many bluegrass, old-time, and folk greats. Over more than fifty years in music she has established herself as a truly singular voice, instrumentalist, and frontwoman in genres that lionize tradition, “authenticity,” and emulation. She’s won IBMA Awards, sung and recorded with Linda Ronstadt, and set poems by Wendell Berry to music – at his request. She’s influenced and inspired an entire generation of musicians who can call her a mentor including Molly Tuttle, Kimber Ludiker, and Tatiana Hargreaves, just to name a few. All in all, Lewis has carved out a unique, superlative niche in American roots music occupied by almost no other musicians and creators. Her band, the Right Hands, includes Fiddler Brandon Godman, Bassist Haselden Ciaccio, and guitarist George Guthrie, all contributing to extraordinary harmonies.

The opening band is B*Craft Band, A new California string band with an eclectic mix of modern and traditional sounds, layered harmonies, and good vibes.
