Volunteers
Volunteers are the life blood of the CBA. They are the way things get done in Bluegrass World. With that said, we need your help!!! There are lots of different ways that you can help. Some of those are – Meet and greet people as they arrive to the festival; check them in or sell them tickets; help with setting up the festival; check wristbands as the festival goers enter the music area; sell ice, water, T-shirts, or merchandise; help with the Safety/Hospitality crew; and more.
Some jobs start early during Festival week – some happen during the 4-day festival. Some jobs happen where you can see and hear the Main Stage music, and some don’t!!
Here is what you get for Volunteering – a Four Day Festival Ticket!!!!
If you can see and hear the Main Stage music you would contribute 16 hours of service. This is usually four 4-hour shifts. Examples – T-shirt booth, Water booth, Merchandise booth.
If you cannot see and hear the Main Stage music, you would contribute 12 hours of service. This is usually three 4-hour shifts. Examples – Ice Sales, First Aid, Safety/Hospitality.
Consider being a Crew Coordinator. In exchange for doing more work you would get 2 four-day festival tickets!!! And maybe even something special. We are still working on this. A coordinator position means more responsibility – like contacting volunteers and setting schedules before the festival. It also means more work during the festival – making sure your crew shows up and filling in when needed. We really need some core people for these open crew leader positions – Gate Ticket Sales and Greeters, Volunteers, and Back Stage Hospitality!!! Do I need to be a member of the CBA to volunteer?
Yes, you need to be a CBA member in order to volunteer. Info about joining can be found here
How many hours do I need to work to earn a free 4 day pass?
You need to work 16 hours if your job is where you can see and hear the shows. All other jobs require 12 hours volunteer time.
Can I work more than the required time and earn more than one free ticket?
You can earn one free ticket per person. (if you feel you have a special circumstance, you can talk this over with your Coordinator).
Do I have to wear my Volunteer Name Badge all the time at the Festival?
We like to have everyone wear their badge all the time but it is only required when you are doing your volunteer job.
What about T-Shirts?
We have supplied t-shirts in the past, but do not supply t-shirts every year. If you have a volunteer shirt from years past, you may wear it.
How do I volunteer to help at a CBA festival or concert other than the Fathers Day Festival?

What if I've already purchased my ticket and volunteer?
Request a time sheet from your Coordinator, to be filled out during the festival. At the end of the Festival on Sunday, a copy of your time sheet signed by your coordinator will be given to the Volunteer Coordinator. The price you paid for your ticket will then be refunded to you by the CBA Treasurer.
