Each Friday in September, we will be sending out a weekly roundup of updates and special content to get you ready for the most important week in bluegrass, September 28 – October 3!
Monday at 11am ET: Keynote Address by Sarah Jarosz
Tuesday at 11am ET: Artist-2-Artist with J.D. Crowe, Winston Marshall, and Jerry Douglas
Wednesday at 11am ET: Artist-2-Artist with Doyle Lawson and Kristin Scott Benson
Thursday at 11am ET: Jerry Garcia & Bluegrass: From the Bay, to Bean Blossom, and Back

To stream these sessions, as well as many others – see the full schedule here –  IBMA Business Conference registration is required. Business Conference registration also allows access to other valuable content: an online version of the Gig Fair (one of the most popular conference events each year) the Songwriter Showcase, two virtual in-the-round Song Circles, the Annual IBMA Town Hall Meeting, the IBMA Virtual Exhibit Hall, and much more.
Don’t miss a truly one-of-a-kind awards show co-hosted by Sierra Hull, Joe Newberry, Tim O’Brien and Rhonda Vincent!

An annual highlight of our awards show is the induction of iconic figures and groups into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees include J.T. Gray, owner of the World Famous Station Inn, New Grass Revival, and the Johnson Mountain Boys! We can’t wait to share these historic presentations with you on Thursday, October 1st at 8:00pm ET.
The Travelin’ McCourys with special guest Del McCoury; Steep Canyon Rangers; Jerry Douglas; Sierra Hull & Molly Tuttle; and more announced for IBMA Bluegrass Live! powered by PNC.

In addition to festival performances, your music pass grants access to IBMA Bluegrass Ramble showcases, the 31st Annual IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards, special awards presentations during the week, the virtual exhibit hall and exclusive features inside Swapcard, our official event platform.

Please consider a donation of $20, $100, or more to the IBMA when you register for your pass since the registration amount alone does not come close to covering the cost of delivering the week’s high quality bluegrass content straight to your smartphone, laptop, or living room!
30 Official Showcase Artists will be featured during this year’s IBMA Bluegrass Ramble. These artists represent a diverse range of bluegrass styles and influences. For a sneak peek at this year’s talent, check out our Here, There, & Everywhere series on Facebook or our Ramble Spotify Playlist. Discover your next favorite band at the IBMA Bluegrass Ramble!

The Bluegrass Situation announced today Shout & Shine Online will take place October 3rd at 2pm ET (and a repeat viewing at 3:30 pm ET). The fifth annual showcase will celebrate equity and inclusion in bluegrass and roots music as part of this year’s IBMA Virtual World of Bluegrass; Performers include Amythyst Kiah, Rissi Palmer, Kaïa Kater, and more.

Presented by The Bluegrass Situation, PineCone, Decolonizing the Music Room, and the International Bluegrass Music Association in partnership with Visit Raleigh and the Raleigh Convention Center, Shout & Shine Online can be seen on, Facebook, YouTube, and via IBMA conference platform Swapcard.

Although there will not be any official IBMA Virtual World of Bluegrass events in-person in Raleigh, NC, we still have many local partners sharing in the festivities. The Sheraton Raleigh Bluegrass Live Watch Party will take place October 1-3. Join them for livestreaming of IBMA Virtual World of Bluegrass content in addition to live music, full bar service, and food from Jimmy V’s Osteria & Bar. Discounted room rates are available to those interested in attending.
