In this class, in addition to looking at the basics of bluegrass mandolin, we will learn a variety of old time tunes and songs, and a few New Acoustic numbers. Melodies and accompaniment will be taught.
Tunes like Half Past Four, Red Steer, and Foggy Mt Top are examples of the Old Time Music, and New Acoustic tunes from the pens of Tony Rice, David Grisman, and me, will be explored. Good mandolin technique will be emphasized.
