Our Hotel
For those wondering about the event site, we selected the Carlsbad by The Sea Hotel because of the generous amount of open outdoor space it provides. The hotel is mainly situated outside, meaning there are no “interior only” hallways. Attendees, attendee guests, and the public are all welcome to attend and pick in hotel rooms and in the lush outdoor courtyard that has been set aside for 24/7 jamming. Like the Great 48, some rooms are reserved for 24/7 jamming, while other rooms are reserved for quiet hours after 10pm. We don’t have the entire hotel reserved, so please be courteous toward other hotel guests who likely will not have experienced a bluegrass shindig before.
Windmill Food Hall
The Windmill Food Hall is conveniently located within a few steps from the hotel. There are three businesses that make up the site property, the hotel, the food hall, and a wedding venue. The Windmill Food Hall features 12 different restaurants and a full bar that is accessible from the interior of the building and from outside on the patio. Please make sure to support the businesses inside the Food Hall. These kind folks are allowing us to host bands and jam in the Food Hall. Please be respectful of the other businesses while you are jamming. The Food Hall will be open for coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
