San Francisco’s The Fiddle Mercantile presents The Fiddler in Question: a series of seven online workshops taught by seven master fiddlers from across North America. Each will explore a different style through the eyes and ears of the specific fiddler, with a focus on how they play, how they learn, and what inspires them each time they pick up their fiddle. The Fiddle Mercantile’s Brandon Godman and Leah Wollenberg will moderate each session and will include an interview, live audience Q&A, lots of playing and a post session roundtable discussion to share what you found to be significant.
This season will feature IBMA Fiddler of the Year Deanie Richardson, old time great Tatiana Hargreaves, jazz master Jason Anick, Canadian fiddle king Calvin Vollrath, Irish fiddle icon Liz Carroll, old time scholar Jake Blount, and Texas fiddle champion Megan Lynch Chowning. You can select specific sessions, or choose to attend them all. Can’t make the date? Don’t worry, your registration will include a link to a recording of the session to view at your leisure.
The Fiddler in Question kicks off January 23 and runs through April 17. For more information and to register, visit:
