This photo shared by Betsy Riger on the occasion of her daughter’s. A.J. Lee’s, formal reception of a mandolin made for her by Dennis Anderson.

Those of us CBA volunteers charged with helping to promote Association membership have a litany of good reasons to join up. A reason you don’t see mentioned very often is becoming part of a large group of folks who, over time, become like family. So it was with Dennis and A.J., a demonstration of which came in the form of a quite beautiful instrument made just for the girl. The mandolin brings together the love of the music we all share, the artistic fruit of a dedicated luthier and the life-long, inter-generational friendship that begun, quite probably, standing around a camp fire.
