Mission Blue is rooted in the timeless sounds of traditional Bluegrass while bringing a fresh spark to every performance. With heartfelt harmony singing, driving rhythms, and masterful picking, the band honors the greats: The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and beyond, while weaving in the influence of innovators like J.D. Crowe, Hot Rize, Larry Sparks, and Red Allen. Their sets are rich with history, tradition, and a deep love for the music.
They also reimagine classic country hits, folk ballads, and timeless tunes with their own voice, along with featuring their original compositions. Based in Northern California, they perform across regional venues and festivals in California and Oregon with a traditional five-piece band. Wherever they play, Mission Blue carries the soul of Bluegrass into today’s world with authenticity and heart.
