Mark your calendars! The Bakersfield Great 48 Jam will be January 9 – 12 in 2025 — kicking off CBA’s 50th year.
Reservations for the GREAT 48 are rolling in to the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center and we are planning a lovely kick-off to the CBA’s 50th anniversary party!
Check out our Workshop and Classes tab to sign up for the Wernick Method Jam Class (same 3-hour class offered four times to accommodate your schedule and provide personal coaching).

- Our non-stop jamming Thursday through Sunday, Jan 9-12, 2025! We will have jams for all tempos and levels ((hosted, themed, Old-time, Bluegrass, Gospel, and …?)
- Our free Saturday Workshops! (Fiddle, Old-Time, Guitar, Banjo, Bass and…?)
- Our free Showcase concerts Friday night (featuring WATER TOWER and ….?)
- Our ticketed Saturday night concert: AJ Lee and Blue Summit, at the beautiful Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace!

While registration at the Marriott is currently full, G48’s room reservationist, Michelle Sanchez, will gladly place your room preferences on a waiting list. There are always last minute cancellations!

If you’d like to arrange alternate off-site accommodations there are other hotels and RV accommodations nearby. We recommend the Hourglass Hotel. See ad under Hotels and Dining.

Hotels near the Marriot
- One block East, across from the Amtrak station: Best Western Hill House.
- 0.9 miles to the West (4 min drive) is the historic Padre Hotel, built in 1928, renovated in 2010, Bakersfield’s premiere boutique hotel.
- About two and half miles away to the southwest, is the Hampton Inn on Oak Street.
- Two miles away to the northwest and just a few blocks from the Buck Owens Crystal Palace is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, the newest of all these hotels.
