Bluegrass Country needs YOU!

Written by:

Bluegrass Country has kicked off its year-end fundraising campaign, featuring special editions of the regular shows through Dec. 13th.

On Bluegrass Signal — broadcast Mondays (8 pm), Tuesdays (9 pm), and Fridays (3 pm), all times Pacific — I’ll present a history of Northern California bluegrass and old time music. Other programs during the next week feature women in bluegrass, pre-WWII country music, Grammy-nominated and IBMA Award-winning music, twin spins of back-to-back live tracks, bluegrass covers of Grateful Dead and Beatles songs, and in-depth profiles of many classic bluegrass artists. If you miss a show, or want to hear it again, Bluegrass Country’s ARCHIVE PLAYER stores recent programs that you can access any time.

And throughout all the shows, you’ll hear a bit about the importance of donating to this unique Washington, DC-based listener-supported 24/7 bluegrass and roots music station, which began in 1967 with a half-hour program named Bluegrass Unlimited, hosted by Dick Spottswood and engineered by Gary Henderson. When WAMU-FM switched to all public affairs programming in 2016, listeners and fans in the DC area bound together and founded the Bluegrass Country Foundation, a non-profit volunteer-run organization supported by donations, which keeps the music alive at https://bluegrasscountry.org/

Your donations in any amount will help Bluegrass Country continue presenting the music we love. Just click HERE to connect to the secure payment system.

The CBA supports Bluegrass Country. Thanks for doing so as well!
