If you follow flat-pick guitarists, you know about the inspirational stuff West Virginia based Jake Eddy has been doing. His Youtube channel and Instagram feed are filled with loads of materials including guitar tips, videos from his time with Becky Buller Band, and some recent shows he and his brother Jake did with master mandolinist Andy Statman including one at the Grand Ole Opry. Well, if you are in Southern California you will not want to miss his upcoming workshops and shows on Dec 3rd and 4th. I spoke with him briefly and he said Yamaha invited him out to do some filming and other work for an upcoming deal he’s working with them. I asked if he had played out here before and he said the farthest west he’s played is Colorado so he’s real excited to get out to California for this his inaugural visit to the Golden State. Check out on his Website for more info about him and you can also DM him on Instagram for information about possible lessons during his short visit while based in Hollywood.
Below are the details for his two shows where he says he will be “flying solo”. If you can, get out and give him a big California welcome.
Note: The Huntington Beach workshop will be from 6-7 PM with the show starting at 7:30.
On Sunday, Dec 4 from 2 to 4 PM in Echo Park, Jake will be doing a workshop and solo house concert with the exciting local Water Tower Band opening up. For more information about the Echo Park events, you can DM Jake or contact Kenny Feinstein (watertowerband@gmail.com) who put together both of these shows. Thanks Kenny!
I’ll leave you with this video of Jake playing the classic Texas Gales.
