RADIO SHOWS

“Bluegrass Signal” on KALW
Broadcast every Saturday (5-6 pm Pacific) on www.KALW.org (91.7 FM in the Bay Area), and available on demand for a week following the broadcast.

Jan. 8: Hell On Church Street Blues
Leah Wollenberg compares and contrasts the Punch Brothers (in NorCal this week) tribute and Tony Rice original; bonus: fiddle tunes with this date’s title and additional musical previews.

Jan. 15: Crow On the Banjo
JD Crowe, that is! A memorial tribute to the musician eulogized by John Lawless in Bluegrass Today: “If Earl Scruggs was a machine, J.D. Crowe was a carnival ride. His playing was fun, lighthearted, and even frivolous at times, all coming from his own distinct personality.”

Jan. 22: Allegra Picks ‘Em & Plays ‘Em
The first of many (we hope) guest appearances from Ms. Thompson, now the Producer/Host of KPFA’s Pig In A Pen.

Jan. 29: All Kinds Of Country
Sully Roddy is now a Bluegrass Signal regular, and her mix of bluegrass, blues, and country will be presented on (most month’s) final Saturdays.

Feb. 5: Across the Tracks
New releases and reissues
