Celebrate Life at the Spring Campout
Spring Campout is coming!!!! And this year we are “Celebrating Life and Each Other – The Year of the Best We”!!!
The reason? Well here is the story. You may know a fella named Frank Solivan Sr. He has been so involved with the CBA for many, many years. He was the creator and director of the “Kid’s on Bluegrass” program for over 20 years ago. This program encourages children to play an instrument of one kind or another and to sing! It teaches kids to be brave, get over the butterflies and perform for people. It shows kids a wonderful way of life that can be their future. Look around and you will see our CBA kids on Big Stages across our country and across the world!!!!
Well, Frank had an adventure not long ago that almost took his life. Because he survived, a mutual friend thought it would be cool to “Celebrate” his life! I thought that was a great idea and have expanded on it.
Come out and Celebrate all of our Lives – we are so lucky to live in Bluegrass World and enjoy each other and the music we love. There will be a large tent to jam in and hopefully some “Pot Lucks” at dinner time. Who knows what will happen!!! Be prepared to enjoy each other and Celebrate!!!!!
Spring Campout Details:
April 18 – 23, 2023 in Lodi, CA. Lodi Grape Festival Grounds (413 E. Lockeford St., Lodi, CA 95240)
April 21 – 22, 2023 – The 55th Annual Open Fiddle and Picking Contest presented by the California State Old Time Fiddle Association
All events are free to the public to come out and walk around, listen to the music, bring your instruments and join in, and enjoy the contest!
Camping is available at $40 for RVs (Electric/Water hookups) and $10 for tent, car, van camping (Dry camping). Please make reservations by emailing [email protected]. We will take payment on your arrival – cash, check or credit. Please do not arrive before 12 noon on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, unless you are volunteering to set up. Thanks in advance.
Volunteers are always needed at campouts. It takes a team to provide what you need. Please consider helping out the CBA or the CSOTFA with their contest. You can contact Deb Livermore to volunteer for the CBA or [email protected] to volunteer for the Fiddle contest.
We hope to have a couple of food and craft vendors for your enjoyment as well!!
