Jason Keiser is a professional guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, multi-stylist, recording artist, band leader, arranger and composer based out of the Bay Area currently residing in San Jose, California.
Jason Keiser studied Bluegrass, Old-Time, & Country Music Studies at East Tennessee State University and graduated with a BA in Bluegrass, Country, & Old-Time Music Studies in May of 2018.
Notable teachers and mentors of Jason at ETSU include professional guitarist and member of The Tony Rice Unit, Wyatt Rice, member of Alison Krauss and Union Station; Adam Steffey, jazz educator and pianist Jason Day, grammy award winning recording engineer and bassist; Martin Walters, and more.
Jason then went on to study music in higher ed at San Jose State University under Dr. Aaron Lington, Jeff Lewis, and professional jazz guitarist Rick Vandivier. Jason graduated with his Masters of Music in Jazz Studies in May of 2020.
Currently, Jason is a professional guitarist, composer, and band leader of the professional Bay Area based new acoustic and jazz music fusion string band; The New Acoustic Collective.
The New Acoustic Collective recently made their debut at IBMA’s World of Bluegrass as Official Showcase Artists, and released their second New Acoustic Music record; “Art of Acoustics” featuring special guest Wyatt Rice.

In addition to band leading, composing, and freelance work, Jason is a prolific educator, and private guitar instructor in beginning guitar, ukulele, music fundamentals, jazz, bluegrass, jazz theory and improvisation, composing, and more at many different music schools in the Bay Area. These include Willow Glen Music School, Veksler Academy of Music & Dance, The Music School, and Jason Keiser Music Studios.
