Lonesome Still

Lonesome Still is a San Francisco-based bluegrass band that combines their favorite parts of each genre of acoustic Americana: the harmonies of bluegrass, the lyricism of folk, and the melodies of old-time music. Known in the Bay Area for their original songwriting and witty lyrics, Lonesome Still constantly finds new ways to make their followers and friends dance and laugh. Everyone in the band sings, writes, and makes each other better.

Their songwriting covers a wide range of topics, including the glory of the Sierra mountains (“Shadow of These Peaks”), how a lasting romance is about the magic in the little things (“Any Way You Do It”), and unorthodox techniques to motivate your bandmates (“Break Their Hearts and Make Them Sing Harmony”). Lonesome Still wrapped up the 2023 festival season with a well-received set at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in Tres Pinos, CA, and they can’t wait to play the legendary Father’s Day Festival. Join Michelle Yu (fiddle, bass), Ian Kelmartin (bass, guitar), Garrett Massman (guitar, dobro, fiddle), and Nat Hendel (mandolin) at Vern’s!
