Sycamore Bend is from Fresno, California and focuses on playing mostly original songs written by Dan Stein and Mike McDonald in the bluegrass style and instrumentation. With high driving instrumentation from banjo player Steve Hall, guitarist, Dan Stein, dobro player Doug Carleton, Mike McDonald on mandolins, and John Hall on bass and with a focus on tight harmonies from Dan, Doug and Mike, Sycamore Bend blends the right balance of that high lonesome sound with their unique songwriting that offers something truly unique from any other California bluegrass band.
