Ettore Buzzini jams with Lucy Khadder at the Great 48

The California Bluegrass Association had the pleasure of welcoming Ettore Buzzini to the West Coast for the first time earlier this year at the Great 48 Jam, and it’s been exciting to watch what’s unfolding next. At just 18, Ettore is already developing a strong voice on the banjo, with a clear respect for tradition and a growing presence in the bluegrass community.

We’re glad the CBA could be part of his first California appearance —and we look forward to watching where the music takes him next . . .

Ettore Buzzini joins The Traveling McCourys on “Young Guns Tour”
Spring Tour Highlights Rising Bluegrass Talent Across the Nation
LOS ANGELES, CA — March 16, 2026

Rising bluegrass artist Ettore Buzzini is set to open for The Traveling McCourys on their Spring 2026 “Young Guns Tour,” performing on Saturday, March 21 at The Kate in Old Saybrook, Connecticut and on Sunday, March 22 at Colony in Woodstock, New York.

The “Young Guns Tour” celebrates emerging bluegrass musicians worthy of notice, artists carrying the genre’s rich traditions into a new era, just as The Traveling McCourys did when they were young performers with The Del McCoury Band.

Swiss-American banjo prodigy Ettore Buzzini is barely 18 years old and is quickly building a national profile. He recently released a few tracks from his second full-length album, which features high-profile guest appearances by celebrated artists including Danny Paisley, Mark Schatz, Patrick McAvinue. and Michael Cleveland.

“I’m beyond honored to share the stage with musicians I’ve admired my whole life,” said Ettore Buzzini. “The Traveling McCourys have always been a huge inspiration to me, just as Del McCoury inspired them in their youth. Being part of a tour that supports young talent in this way is both humbling and exciting.”

Recently, Buzzini made his first-ever visit to the West Coast in January for The Great 48 in Bakersfield, California, and performed on the main stage at the Matheson Music Festival in Arizona, where he earned standing ovations and encores from brand new audiences experiencing his music for the first time. He is also slated as a headliner at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown this April.

Buzzini continues to gain recognition for his technical mastery and heartfelt performances, blending youthful energy with the authenticity of traditional bluegrass. His inclusion in the Young Guns Tour underscores his growing reputation as one of the most promising voices shaping the future of the genre.
