Foibles,Bon Mots, and Thoughts

Nov 6, 2020 | Welcome Column

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music, live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”  Albert Einstein

“If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph.”

“The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music.”

Kurt Vonnegut

“If you don’t think every day is a good day, try missing one.”

Cavett Robert

Election CBA bluegrass style! CBA members voting on line for the first time nearly tripled their previous vote counts. In 100% perfect hindsight one wonders why this was not instituted earlier. It seems to be so much more practical and easier. Thank you to those who backed it and made it all  possible.

On that same topic I am happy to announce that the CBA czar is not asking for an immediate recount and states that there are no plans in the immediate future for filing a lawsuit concerning the outcome of the election.

                             HOW GREAT THOU ART

November feels like springtime in America. The air is accented with the sweet smell of lilacs, optimism, and a “Can DO” attitude seems to be gaining momentum. A karma like aura has suddenly appeared spreading her graces and goodwill throughout our land. Carpe Diem!

                               IT’S A NEW DAY

With all that in mind I bestow a Thanksgiving blessing upon our CBA Community that our country and its citizens can begin the long hard process of regaining all those things we once took for granted; our health, our ability to visit family and friends, going out to a restaurant, sending our children back to school, and being able to go back to our jobs and get back into the work force. In short, living our lives.

                             LET THE MUSIC BEGIN

With a little luck and help from karma we can begin assembling our bluegrass community back together again. We can kick 2020 in the fanny with a loud, “Good riddance!”

It’s time for us to create some rollicking bluegrass jamming, crammed cozily together in a colorful, musical, circle with our bluegrass bandmates and friends.

Rosin up your bows, tune your banjos, change your guitar brings, wipe down your mandolins, and dust off those big beautiful bad boys of bluegrass, your doghouse bass fiddles. We can all hear the High Lonesome sound of our bluegrass muse letting us know, “Let the jamming begin!”

Finally if we can whip this pandemic thing wouldn’t it be wonderful to return to our annual Father’s Day Festival in 2021!  And who knows maybe there will even be a chance to once again enjoy our annual spring camp out.

Until December 6: Read a book, hug a child, pet a dog, stroke a cat, eat a box of Sees Candy and IKIRU.
