Here at Free Range Fridays we feel like we’re providing a community service by keeping alive San Francisco’s tradition of live music in casual settings. We really appreciate you many loyal fans who come to our showcases. The enthusiasm and respect that you show for the performers is a big part of the Free Range Fridays experience.
But right now, we can all do our community a service by coming to the next Free Range Fridays night and giving generously to support the Bluegrass Pride float in this year’s San Francisco Pride parade. Now in its third year, Bluegrass Pride has become a national movement to promote bluegrass as a way to unify all people, and to bring that passion to a bluegrassroots level by making every gig, every jam session, every campout, and every festival welcoming to and supportive of anybody, and we mean anybody, who wants to share their love for bluegrass music.

We could raise funds for Bluegrass Pride many ways, and rest assured our Bluegrass Pride associates are working every angle they can. But we believe in good old-fashioned retail philanthropy. Chuck, especially, is looking forward to using all his powers of persuasion to open your hearts and your pocketbooks and help you do something that’s going to make you feel really good.
If you’re tired of his hectoring and just want to shut him up, you could pay hush money, but if you’ve been paying attention to the news, the costs of keeping somebody quiet has gone up recently. So it’s probably easier if you just toss your generous donation into the tip jar.
