Golden Old-Time Campout

We are so excited to be holding our beloved Golden Old Time Campout again in 2026 at the fabulous Camp Russian River, in Guerneville! We will enjoy 3 days and 3 nights devoted to the playing of Old Time music and fun! Come jam and visit with musical friends old and new amongst the redwoods.

Gates open at Noon Thursday, August 20th. The campout ends Sunday, August 23rd, at 2:00pm. Note that this end time is 4 hours earlier than last year. We ask that you do not arrive early, and please plan to be comfortably cleared out by our end time.

Camp RR is close to many restaurants, a supermarket, and other services in the town of Guerneville. Armstrong Woods State Reserve is 3 miles from the camp. The town of Jenner, where the Russian River meets the coast, is 14 miles to the West. Shade structures and camp tables can be useful, as shade moves around all day, and not all sites have tables. Ice available on site while supplies last. There is a dish washing station on site. In addition to bathrooms with showers in the main building, porta-potties will also be on site.

Access by foot to the Russian River is adjacent to the venue, and is marked on the map. Due to environmental development restrictions, this is a short but steep dirt path, so please proceed with caution. Kayaks and other water sport equipment can be rented directly across the river at Johnson’s Beach.

The main bathroom building has hot showers, with additional porta-potties placed around the grounds.

Camping

All campsites will be on a first come, first serve basis, including sites appropriate for RVs. There is one ADA campsite at Camp RR. Please email karenceliaheil@californiabluegrass.net for further information and availability.

No limit on RVs/vans under 20 feet long, so for those you can just buy regular tickets.

For tent camping and RVs up to 20’, all you need is a general admission (GA) category ticket for each person camping. Those are the first ticket categories you see listed. Choose your spot when you get to the camp.

We have space for 6 RVs/rigs over 20 feet long. You will need to reserve these spots for all 3 nights by buying this category of ticket for $125 total. Choose from the sites that are available on the ticketing list and by looking on the Campground Map. Note that you will still need to buy a camp admission per person ticket. There is no dump station available.

Please know that ‘in-fill’ camping is going to happen as needed in between and around all areas of the campground, even possibly around the numbered and reserved RV spots. The GOT is more about community, musical engagement and fun than a private getaway in the woods. With this in mind please be respectful!

More importantly, you’ll be doing your part to promote Old-time music in the CBA. $30 per year is a small contribution that gives you a voice in a non-profit that does so much for our music communities!

Ticketing

Ticket prices have gone up this year, as our venue costs have increased.
GA (general admission) camping, 3 nights: $125
GA camping, 3 nights, CBA member discount: $100
GA camping, single night, any night: $45
GA day use pass, any day, no camping: $25
GA youth (13-21) camping or day use, any day/night: $15

RVs over 20 ft have an added fee of $125 for all 3 nights, with limited spaces available, all for advance reservation.
Kids 12 and under are free.

There is a camp capacity limit that we have not had to concern ourselves with… yet. Purchasing advance tickets, helps us (and you!) plan, and keep an eye on the numbers.

Rules

    • Please do not show up ahead of our camp dates expecting a tour; Camp RR does not allow a drive-thru.
    • Please drive S L O W L Y when entering and inside Camp Russian River.
    • Do not share electrical outlets with surrounding campsites, due to capacity limits.
    • Do not hang anything from the trees, no hammocks.
    • NO GENERATORS allowed in the tent sites or anywhere it will disturb campers.
    • Yes to propane fire pits; No to wood fires.
    • No dogs please.
    • No curfew with regard to playing music!
