There’s much I like about my volunteer jobs for the CBA; probably my single favorite derives from my web master’s job, since each holiday I get to write a greeting from the California Bluegrass Association to, well, the entire world. A big responsibility to carry for twenty years. What’s just the right thing to say this year? How can I make certain I won’t offend someone? What message can I/should I thread into the greeting to give it a little inspirational panache? Well, taking all these factors into consideration, here’s what I’ve come up with for 2019…
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
It’s a pretty safe one, but I hope it does inspire you to share your happiness and joy with those you love for everything you’re thankful for. I’ll take a shot at calling out what the Association is thankful for: we’re entering our 45th year with membership numbers up, a healthy financial picture, a leadership team with several new, fresh and energetic members, and two musical genres around which to gather, bluegrass and old-time, that continue to stay true to themselves yet grow and expand. I could go on, but you get the point. As individuals and as proud members of the world’s largest bluegrass organization, we’ve got a whole lot to celebrate.
Enjoy and please stay safe.
