Hi ya’ll. My name is Juno, I am an 8-week old Cardigan Welsh Corgi and I am substituting this morning for my new owner Geoff Sargent. We’ve known each other now for about 48 hours and he seems to be an ok guy, but a little overbearing when it comes to letting me do my stuff in a nice warm house. I mean, whenever I need to go potty, he kind of freaks out, has this weird mantra of “no no no”, then he picks me up and runs outside and puts on the ground on a pile of cold, wet, mulch. If you had the choice of going potty in a nice warm house or cold, wet mulch I ask you, what would your choice be? Right now I am winning that fight because even when he takes me out at 3AM, I just choose to not go and wait until he takes me back inside. That shows him who is boss! It gets a great reaction to go on the carpet right inside the door…you should try it. I am sure that there will be many adventures like the potty fight I’ll be able to write about so stay tuned…that’s a music joke hahahahahahaha. On the other hand, since arriving here it has been rainy and cold and at least Geoff is big and warm, even if he smells funny, and lets me sleep next to him in the bed. Don’t tell him but I wouldn’t use the bed for potty; I don’t think he’s figured that out yet. At least he doesn’t snore.
Even though I am young, I’ve been paying close attention to the news and this Corona virus thing is a little freaky. As far as I can tell, dogs don’t get it but all the same it seems to have a pretty big impact on my life. Some of the best sandwich meat and cheeses in the grocery store that make really scrumptious treats are sold out, and what is with those goofy looking masks anyway. I think everyone is wearing them wrong and since I don’t use toilet paper I could care less about why people want to buy extra rolls. Maybe they also bought puppies and need something disposable to clean up after potty in a nice warm house. Geoff has to ride the Bart train occasionally and I’ve overheard him talk about how he keeps his hands in his pockets to keep from touching stuff that might have the virus on it. Me, I just lick everything anyway…I wonder if I could give him the virus by licking a Bart seat and licking him…hmmm file for future reference under the heading of “potential freak out actions”.
I’ve also heard him talk on the phone about how the virus might impact CBA events. Evidently he is going to something called a Board meeting today to talk about what to do or make plans or something. It sounds like a big deal and he and his friends are pretty stressed out over it all. The big event, something he calls the Father’s Day Festival is in June, when I’ll be 6 months old, is what they are worrying about the most. I think he will write something up about the festival and send it out to his other friends later this week.
Anyway, I hope I’ll get to meet you soon at a CBA event. I’m really looking forward to being a bluegrass dog and think that I will fit in. I really like riding in trucks, and listening to Bluegrass Junction, and I get to read the Bluegrass Breakdown in my crate everyday. At least Geoff plays the dobro, could have been worse, he could have been a banjo player.
