Learn to call square dances and participate in the old time ecosystem in a whole new way!
We’ll learn fun dances, how to “call” them while the music is going and learn how to teach them to others before the music starts. We’ll also work with a live band, address different types of gigs you’ll encounter as a caller, building a dance community, what a “square dance” actually is, how to practice, and more.
No experience is needed here, this class is suitable for those who have never called before and also folks who have some calling experience but want more!
Come ready to dance! Please bring a water bottle, a recording device, and something to take notes on.
