Last night I received a phone call from Bryan McClenahan, son of Lou and Sunshine, letting know that his mother has passed away. There’s a lot I could, and will, say about my beloved friend, but I’m unable to do that now. This will take time to sink in. Instead, I’ll share what Bryan posted to our bluegrass community and his wide range of friends this morning.

It’s with a heavy heart and quite a lot of tears today that I tell you she passed away this morning.
I’ve been blessed with two people, my parents, who define unconditional love. My sister and I never wanted for anything that we needed — Ever. And my parents were present in our lives.
I already miss my mom. I cannot possibly say all the things she was to me, and so many other people. She danced to the beat of a different drummer, she was 100% full of love and life.
I love you Sunshine ????????

The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.
I will be getting the tattoo here in honor of my mom.
