I’m thankful that I have the Wednesday Welcome Message, so I get to have the Thanksgiving Eve message every year!
I am thankful that I live in a country where I can end the title of this message with a preposition without fear of government reprisal. (Although I expect some blowback from my fellow grammar mavens.)
I am thankful that the CBA community – and the bluegrass community at large – has reached down so deep and contributed so generate significant help for the people affected by the wildfires in California.
I am thankful it’s raining today, and may rain the next few days. I hope it has a positive effect on the firefighting efforts, and I know it’s going to rinse out a lot of the particulate matter that’s made our air so unhealthy these past few weeks.
I’m thankful my youngest son got married quite recently, and that all my children have found wonderful people with whom to share their lives.
I am thankful that, 40+ years ago, I found someone wonderful with whom to share my life.
I am SO thankful for my two beautiful granddaughters!
I am thankful that, at a very young age, I began learning how to play music, and continue to learn more, every year.
I am thankful that my body is still (knock on wood, right?) not afflicted with any maladies that prevent me from continuing my pursuit of learning and playing music. As Tom Wolfe said in The Right Stuff: “It could blow at any seam.”
I am thankful for all the great friends I’ve made in the California Bluegrass Association, and look forward to adding to that number every year!
I am thankful for the amazing musicians with whom I play throughout the year. 2018 will end up my busiest year ever – around 90 gigs.
I am thankful to be living in the United States.
No offense intended for those who dwell elsewhere, but I am thankful to live in Northern California.
